    A single story of an unplanned event typically known as “breaking news” shot and edited in under 9 hours. No time limit on length of story.

  • – General News –

    A single story shot and edited in under 9 hours. This is to be considered a random “day-of” assignment of any news topic. No time limit on length of story.

  • – General News NT –

    A single story of any news topic No time restrictions on shooting or editing. No time limit on length of story.

  • – News Feature 9 –

    A single story of a “light-hearted” nature shot and edited in under 9 hours. No time limit on length of story.

  • – News Feature NT –

    A single story of a “light-hearted” nature. No time restrictions on shooting or editing. No time limit on length of story.

  • – News Series/In Depth –

    A single story or multiple part series of stories. If there are multiple parts to the entry, all parts must be entered. No time limit on length of story.

  • – Sports General –

    A single story of a planned sports event. Story should include outcome of sports event. No time limit on length of story.

  • – Sports Feature –

    A single story of a sports nature. No time limit on length of story.

  • – Sports Highlights –

    A composite of highlights of any sport(s). No time limit on length of story.

  • – Team Spot News –

    A single story of an unplanned event typically known as “breaking news” Must have been shot by 2 or more photographers. Please include names of all that contributed on entry form. No time limit on length of story.

  • – Editing –

    A single story of any topic demonstrating editor’s ability to edit. No time limit on length of story.

  • – Solo Videojournalist –

    A composite of no less than 3 or, no more than 5 stories of any topic. Must have been shot, written, edited and “voiced” or, “tracked” by entrant. Length of composite not to exceed 15 minutes.

  • – Writing –

    A single story of any topic. Demonstrating entrant’s ability to creatively write a story. No time limit on length of story.
